Agrarminister Özdemir will Pestizideinsatz weiter reduzieren
Der Einsatz von Pflanzenschutzmitteln in der Landwirtschaft soll nach den Plänen von Bundeslandwirtschaftsminister Cem Özdemir (Grüne) weiter deutlich reduziert werden. "Mein Ministerium wird 2023 ein Reduktionsprogramm auflegen, um Landwirtinnen und Landwirte dabei zu unterstützen, weniger Pflanzenschutzmittel zu verwenden", sagte Özdemir der Düsseldorfer "Rheinischen Post" (Montagsausgabe).
Die Beschlüsse der kürzlich zu Ende gegangenen UN-Artenschutzkonferenz im kanadischen Montreal hätten die Dringlichkeit dafür nochmals bekräftigt, sagte der Minister. Das EU-Reduktionsziel der Halbierung des Pestizideinsatzes bis zum Jahr 2030 "ist auch national - gestützt auf den Koalitionsvertrag - unsere Messlatte. Dafür sind vielfältige Anstrengungen aller Akteure erforderlich."
Özdemir verteidigte auch das von ihm geplante Exportverbot für bestimmte Pestizide. "Was bei uns aus Gründen des Gesundheitsschutzes zu Recht nicht zugelassen ist, sollten wir auch nicht in andere Teile dieser Welt verschiffen, wo es im Zweifelsfall keine oder nicht ausreichende Sicherheitsstandards gibt. Mit dieser Doppelmoral muss Schluss sein", sagte der Minister. Die Menschen hätten überall das gleiche Recht auf Gesundheit.
