Aktien von indischem Adani-Konzern fallen nach Betrugsvorwürfen weiter
Der Aktienwert des indischen Konzerns Adani Enterprises hat wegen der Vorwürfe gegen Konzernchef Gautam Adani seinen Abwärtstrend fortgesetzt. Zum Handelsbeginn an der Börse in Mumbai am Montag sackte die Aktie zunächst um rund zehn Prozent ab, mittags stand er noch bei minus zwei Prozent. Der Kurs schwankte weiter stark. Indische Oppositionspolitiker haben eine öffentliche Untersuchung der Vorwürfe gefordert.
Das US-Unternehmen Hindenburg Research hatte Ende Januar Betrugsvorwürfe gegen Adani erhoben: Der Konzernchef habe unter Nutzung von Steuerparadiesen Geld in eigene Aktien investiert und damit deren Kurs künstlich hochgetrieben. Seitdem hat Adanis Firmenimperium mehr als 120 Milliarden Dollar und damit ungefähr die Hälfte seines Börsenwertes eingebüßt.
Adani Enterprises hatte zuvor einen beispiellosen Aufstieg hingelegt: Die Aktie kletterte in den vergangenen fünf Jahren um rund 1000 Prozent. Der Fall ist auch politisch brisant, weil Kritiker von Premierminister Narendra Modi vermuten, dass Gautam Adani diesen Höhenflug auch persönlichen Verbindungen zum Premier verdankt, etwa durch Bevorzugung bei der Vergabe öffentlicher Aufträge.
Die wichtigste Oppositionspartei, die Kongresspartei, forderte deshalb eine "ernsthafte Untersuchung" durch die Zentralbank und die Regulierungsbehörde. Am Montag organisierte sie Protestaktionen, unter anderem in Mumbai und Neu-Dehli. Finanzministerin Nirmala Sitharaman wies die Korruptionsvorwürfe zurück. "Jedes Projekt unter Premierminister Modi durchläuft ein offenes Ausschreibungsverfahren", sagte sie dem Sender Times Now.
Gautam Adani weist sowohl die Betrugsvorwürfe von Hindenburg Research als auch den Vorwurf der Vetternwirtschaft zurück. Den 60-Jährigen, der im Januar noch als reichster Mann Asiens galt, hat die Entwicklung bereits extrem viel Geld gekostet.
