Klingbeil will Mietern mit Indexmietverträgen helfen
SPD-Chef Lars Klingbeil hat sich dafür ausgesprochen, Mietern mit an die Inflation gekoppelten sogenannten Indexmietverträgen zu helfen. "Das ist ein Problem, wenn Mieten aufgrund der Preissteigerungen auch in die Höhe schießen", sagte er den Zeitungen der Funke-Mediengruppe (Donnerstagsausgaben). "Das können sich viele Menschen nicht einfach so leisten."
"Ich setze darauf, dass wir für dieses Problem in der Koalition gemeinsam Lösungen finden im Sinne der Mieterinnen und Mieter", sagte Klingbeil weiter. Er widersprach damit Bundesjustizminister Marco Buschmann (FDP), der am Mittwoch in den Funke-Zeitungen keinen "unmittelbaren Regulierungsbedarf" bei den Indexmieten gesehen hatte.
Sogenannte Indexmieten koppeln Mieterhöhungen an die Entwicklung des allgemeinen Preisniveaus. Bei einer hohen Inflation wie derzeit steigen dies Mieten also besonders stark. Angesichts dessen waren Forderungen laut geworden, solche Mietverträge zu begrenzen oder gar deren Neuabschluss zu verbieten.
