Scholz und Habeck bei Windkraft-Gipfel in Ostende
Neun europäische Länder treffen sich am Montag zu einem Nordsee-Gipfel in der belgischen Hafenstadt Ostende. Dabei geht es um den massiven Ausbau von Windkraft-Anlagen auf hoher See. Für Deutschland nehmen Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz (SPD) und Bundeswirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck (Grüne) teil. Auch der britische Premierminister Rishi Sunak und der französische Präsident Emmanuel Macron werden erwartet.
In der Nordsee soll nach belgischen Angaben "das größte grüne Kraftwerk Europas" entstehen. Mit Hilfe der Windkraft wollen die Teilnehmerländer das Ziel der Klimaneutralität erreichen und bei der Energieversorgung unabhängiger von Russland werden. Bereits vor knapp einem Jahr hatten sich Deutschland, Belgien, die Niederlande und Dänemark darauf geeinigt, ihre gemeinsame Offshore-Leistung bis zum Jahr 2050 zu verzehnfachen.
