Deutschland gab 2022 rund 370 Milliarden Euro für Bildung und Forschung aus
Deutschland hat im Jahr 2022 rund 370 Milliarden Euro für Bildungs- und Forschungszwecke ausgegeben. Das war ein nominaler Zuwachs von sechs Prozent oder etwa 21 Milliarden Euro gegenüber dem Vorjahr, wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Freitag mitteilte. Rund 219 Milliarden Euro davon entfielen auf öffentliche und private Kitas, Schulen sowie Hochschulen und eng damit zusammenhängende Bereiche wie die Schülerbeförderung mit dem Nahverkehr.
Auf 99 Milliarden Euro summierten sich 2022 nach Angaben des Bundesamts in Wiesbaden die Ausgaben von Firmen und wissenschaftlichen Einrichtungen außerhalb der Universitäten für Forschung und Entwicklung. Weitere rund 15 Milliarden Euro entfielen demnach auf Bildungsförderung etwa durch Bafög.
22 Milliarden Euro wurden in anderen "bildungsrelevanten Bereichen" wie Volkshochschulen, Horten und betrieblicher Weiterbildung eingesetzt. Für sonstige Bildungsinfrastruktureinrichtungen wie Bibliotheken oder Museen wurden laut amtlicher Statistik weitere sieben Milliarden Euro aufgewendet.
Zweidrittel der Gesamtausgaben für Bildung und Forschung waren demnach öffentlich finanziert, also aus staatlichen Haushalten. Deren Anteil am Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP), das die Gesamtwirtschaftsleistung des Landes ausdrückt, lag 2022 bei 9,6 Prozent. Das war etwas weniger als im Vorjahr, als der Anteil 9,7 Prozent betrug. Das öffentliche und private Bildungsbudget in Höhe von 264 Milliarden Euro machte dabei 2022 allein 6,8 Prozent des BIP aus.
