Die Deutsche Bank hat das beste Quartalsergebnis seit mehr als zehn Jahren verzeichnet. Von Januar bis März stand unter dem Strich ein Gewinn von 1,28 Milliarden Euro, wie die Bank am Donnerstag mitteilte. Das seien zehn Prozent mehr als im Vorjahresquartal und "das beste Ergebnis seit 2013", erklärte Unternehmenschef Christian Sewing. Der Umsatz legte um ein Prozent auf 7,78 Milliarden Euro zu.
Die Deutsche Bank hatte 2019 infolge zahlreicher Skandale rund um ihr Investmentgeschäft einen Strategiewechsel hin zu einem mehr auf Europa und weniger auf hohe Risiken ausgerichteten Profil eingeleitet. Auch die Ausgaben sollten sinken, tausende Arbeitsplätze wurden abgebaut. Seit 2020 schreibt die Bank wieder schwarze Zahlen.
