Bundesrat macht Weg für einheitliche Ladekabel frei
Für Handys, Tablets und ähnliche technische Geräte gelten künftig einheitliche Ladestandards. Nach dem Bundestag gab am Freitag auch der Bundesrat grünes Licht für die Umsetzung einer entsprechenden EU-Richtlinie. Sie zielt darauf ab, die Verbraucherfreundlichkeit zu verbessern, Ressourcen zu schonen und Elektronikabfälle zu verhindern.
Künftig müssen die Ladeschnittstellen von kabelgebundenen aufladbaren Mobiltelefonen und Geräten wie Tablets, E-Book-Readern oder Digitalkameras über einen einheitlichen Ladeanschluss aufgeladen werden können. Dabei handelt es sich um eine USB-C-Schnittstelle, die nach der Gesetzesbegründung dem aktuellen Stand der Technik entspricht. Außerdem müssen Geräte, die über eine sogenannte Schnellladefunktion verfügen, zukünftig stets dasselbe Ladeprotokoll verwenden.
Die Vereinheitlichung der Ladegeräte hat zur Folge, dass Handys und andere Geräte auch ohne neues Ladenetzteil verkauft werden können. Verbraucherinnen und Verbraucher sollen künftig anhand von Piktogrammen auf den Verpackungen eindeutig erkennen können, ob das Gerät mit einem Netzteil verkauft wird oder nicht.
