Regisseur Michael Verhoeven mit 85 Jahren gestorben - Lange Ehe mit Senta Berger
Der Filmregisseur und -produzent Michael Verhoeven ist tot. Verhoeven starb im Alter von 85 Jahren, wie sein Sohn Simon Verhoeven der "Bild"-Zeitung am Freitag sagte. Demnach starb der Ehemann der Schauspiellegende Senta Berger zu Wochenbeginn und wurde bereits beigesetzt.
Verhoeven kam 1938 in Berlin zur Welt und wuchs in München auf. Sein Vater war der Regisseur Paul Verhoeven, die Mutter die Schauspielerin Doris Kiesow. Neben einem Medizinstudium und der Tätigkeit als Arzt arbeitete Verhoeven in den 50er und 60er Jahren als Schauspieler, ehe er Ende der 60er Jahre als Filmregisseur begann.
Sein früher Film "Paarungen" erhielt den Bundesfilmpreis. Später drehte er etwa "Gefundenes Fressen" mit Heinz Rühmann und Mario Adorf. Erfolgreich waren seine Filme "Die weiße Rose" 1982 und 1989 dann "Das schreckliche Mädchen". Der Film über eine Schülerin in der Nazizeit wurde für den Oscar nominiert und erhielt den British Academy Award.
Verhoeven drehte auch eine Reihe von Fernsehfilmen wie "Schlaraffenland" oder "Mutters Courage" sowie mit Berger in der Hauptrolle die Serie "Die schnelle Gerdi". Verhoeven und Berger waren seit 1966 verheiratet.
Er arbeitete außer mit seiner Frau auch mit seinem Sohn Simon zusammen, der Regisseur des Kinoerfolgs "Willkommen bei den Hartmanns" war - der Vater war Koproduzent des Films. Auch Sohn Luca Verhoeven ist als Schauspieler und Produzent tätig.
