Starkoch Ottolenghi hat abends meistens Appetit auf einfache Gerichte
Der Starkoch Yotam Ottolenghi hat nach einem langem Arbeitstag meist Appetit auf einfache Gerichte. "Ich glaube, man kann nur eine bestimmte Menge Geschmack an einem Tag vertragen - man braucht eine Balance", sagte der 53-Jährige der Wochenzeitung "Die Zeit" laut Vorabmeldung vom Mittwoch. Wenn er den ganzen Tag die mit seinem Namen verbundene Gerichte probiert habe, brauche er abends meist "etwas Simples" wie etwa Reis mit Butter.
Ottolenghi betreibt Restaurants, verfasste mehrere international erfolgreiche Kochbücher und ist durch seine Medienauftritte bekannt. Der in Großbritannien lebende Israeli gilt unter anderem als Vorreiter anspruchsvoller vegetarischer Küche, obwohl er selbst kein Vegetarier ist. Von Ernährungsvorschriften hält er nichts, wie er der "Zeit" sagte. Menschen darauf hinzuweisen, was sie essen oder nicht essen sollten, führe lediglich "zu Groll", sagte er.
