WTO senkt Wachstumsprognose für kommendes Jahr stark
Die Welthandelsorganisation (WTO) hat ihre Wachstumsprognose für das kommende Jahr unter anderem wegen der Preissteigerungen infolge des Ukraine-Kriegs stark gesenkt. Statt wie bisher 3,2 Prozent erwartet sie 2023 nur noch ein Plus von 2,3 Prozent. "Die Weltwirtschaft steht vor einer Vielzahl von Krisen", sagte WTO-Chefin Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala am Mittwoch in Genf. Auch die strenge Geldpolitik in den Industrieländern schränke das Wirtschaftswachstum in vielen Teilen der Welt ein.
Für das laufende Jahr rechnen die Ökonomen der WTO mit einem Wirtschaftswachstum von 2,8 Prozent. Damit blieben sie bei ihrer Schätzung vom April. Der Welthandel wird demnach um 3,5 Prozent zunehmen.
Im kommenden Jahr aber erwartet die Organisation nur noch ein Plus von einem Prozent beim Handel. Seit April habe sich die Lage "beträchtlich verdüstert", sagte Okonjo-Iweala. Sollte die Lage noch schlimmer werden, könnte der Welthandel 2023 sogar schrumpfen, warnte die WTO.
