EU-Spitzen suchen in Prag Durchbruch im Gaspreisstreit
Die Staats- und Regierungschefs der Europäischen Union beraten am Freitag in Prag über die Energiekrise und die Rezessionsängste (ab 10.00 Uhr). Überschattet wird der informelle Gipfel auf der Prager Burg von einem Streit darüber, wie die massiv gestiegenen Gaspreise in Europa begrenzt werden können. Forderungen einer Mehrheit der Mitgliedsländer nach einem Preisdeckel für Gasimporte steht die Bundesregierung skeptisch gegenüber.
Weiteres Thema des eintägigen Treffens sind neue EU-Hilfen für die Ukraine im russischen Angriffskrieg. Im Gespräch ist unter anderem eine militärische EU-Ausbildungsmission. Am Donnerstag hatten sich die EU-Länder in Prag mit Vertretern von 17 weiteren Staaten zum Gründungsgipfel der Europäischen Politischen Gemeinschaft getroffen.
