Tag der Organspende mit zentraler Veranstaltung in Düsseldorf
Zum Tag der Organspende wird am Samstag an die Dringlichkeit von Spenderorganen wie Herz, Niere oder Leber erinnert. Eine zentrale Veranstaltung in Düsseldorf unter dem Motto "Zeit, Zeichen zu setzen" soll Menschen überall in Deutschland dazu motivieren, eine Entscheidung zur Organspende zu treffen. Geplant ist unter anderem ein ökumenischer Dankgottesdienst (10.30 Uhr). Zur offiziellen Eröffnungsveranstaltung (13.00 Uhr) wird auch Bundesgesundheitsminister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) erwartet.
In Deutschland warten rund 8500 schwer kranke Menschen auf ein Spenderorgan. Im vergangenen Jahr sank die Zahl derjenigen, die ihre Organe nach dem Tod spendeten, auf 869. Als eine Ursache nennt die Deutsche Stiftung Organtransplantation die Auswirkungen der Coronapandemie und die daraus folgenden Krankenstände beim Klinikpersonal.
