Südafrikanische Sängerin Tyla sagt ihre erste Welttournee wegen Verletzung ab
Traurige Nachricht für Tyla-Fans: Wenige Wochen vor Beginn ihrer Welttournee hat die südafrikanische Grammy-Gewinnerin sämtliche Auftritte abgesagt. Die 22-jährige Sängerin, die im vergangenen Jahr mit ihrem Hit "Water" internationale Charts stürmte, erklärte im Onlinedienst Instagram, sie sei untröstlich, nachdem Ärzte ihr wegen einer Verletzung von der Tournee abgeraten hätten. Es gebe keine Worte für "meine Frustration an diesem entscheidenden Punkt meiner Karriere".
Um was für eine Art Verletzung es sich handelt, teilte Tyla nicht mit. Sie verriet nur so viel, dass sie seit einem Jahr "still" an der Verletzung leide. Nun habe sich diese "tragischerweise verschlimmert". Sie habe "mit großen Hoffnungen Ärzte und Spezialisten" aufgesucht. Doch die Schmerzen seien "nur noch quälender geworden". Sobald sie wieder gesund sei, werde sie die Tour nachholen, versicherte der Star seinen Fans.
Tylas erste Welttournee sollte Ende März in Norwegens Hauptstadt Oslo starten. Weitere Auftritte waren in Dänemark und den Niederlanden sowie in Nordamerika geplant, darunter auch beim legendären Coachella-Festival in der kalifornischen Wüste. In Deutschland sollte Tyla in Berlin und Köln Konzerte geben.
Im Februar hatte die Sängerin bei den Grammy Awards für ihren Song "Water" den Preis für die "beste afrikanische Musikdarbietung" gewonnen. Der Song ist eine Mischung aus verschiedenen Genres wie R&B und Amapiano - einem in den südafrikanischen Townships entstandenen und zunehmend auch weltweit beliebten Mix aus House, Jazz und Lounge-Musik.
