Bonner Klimakonferenz zur Vorbereitung der UN-Weltklimakonferenz in Dubai
In Bonn beginnen am Montag Zwischenverhandlungen zur Vorbereitung der UN-Weltklimakonferenz Ende des Jahres in Dubai (COP 28). Bei der rund zweiwöchigen Konferenz kommen Delegierte aus aller Welt zu Vorträgen und Diskussionen zusammen, um die drängendsten Probleme zu identifizieren und Entscheidungen vorzubereiten. Insbesondere soll es um die erstmalig stattfindende globale Bestandsaufnahme gehen, die überprüfen soll, wo die Welt beim Klimaschutz steht.
"Die globale Bestandsaufnahme ist die Möglichkeit einer Generation, ihren Kurs zu korrigieren und einen Weg zu entwickeln, dem Klimawandel mit neuer Kraft und Perspektiven entgegenzutreten", sagte der Chef des UN-Klimasekretariats, Simon Stiell. Die UN-Weltklimakonferenz findet vom 30. November bis 12. Dezember in den Vereinigten Arabischen Emiraten statt.
