Umweltministerin Lemke offen für Nutzung von Biodiesel für Landwirtschaft
Bundesumweltministerin Steffi Lemke (Grüne) hat sich offen für die Nutzung von Biodiesel in der Landwirtschaft gezeigt. Mit Blick auf die aus Getreide gewonnenen Kraftstoffe sagte sie am Dienstagabend dem ARD-Hauptstadtstudio: "Wenn wir die für die Landwirtschaft reservieren und dort einsetzen können, dann halte ich das auch als Umweltministerin für eine sinnvolle Lösung." Damit rückt Lemke teilweise von ihrer Haltung ab, die Herstellung von Biosprit bis 2030 beenden zu wollen.
An einem Verbot von Biokraftstoffen für Pkw scheint die Ministerin aber dennoch festhalten zu wollen. So sei es nicht sinnvoll, dafür auf begrenzter Ackerfläche in großem Umfang Treibstoffe herzustellen. "Das ist nicht effizient, das ist nicht gut für die Natur", sagte Lemke. Demnach laufen im Umweltministerium derzeit Gespräche zu dem Thema.
Lemke kann sich indes auch Steuererleichterungen oder eine Befreiung auf Pflanzenkraftstoffe in der Landwirtschaft vorstellen. Damit ergebe sich ein Anreiz zur Umrüstung landwirtschaftlicher Fahrzeuge, da nicht alle Motoren für Biosprit geeignet seien. Sie äußerte sich unter dem Eindruck von Protesten der Landwirte gegen die Kürzung von Subventionen für die Landwirtschaft, vor allem beim Agrardiesel.
Noch Anfang vergangenen Jahres hatten sich Lemke und auch Landwirtschaftsminister Cem Özdemir (Grüne) entschieden für ein Ende von Biosprit aus Getreide ausgesprochen - die Herstellung ist vor dem Hintergrund der weltweiten fragilen Nahrungsmittelproduktion umstritten.
