Solarstromproduktion in der EU stark gestiegen
Die Solarstromproduktion ist in der EU in diesem Sommer stark angestiegen. Zwischen Mai und August produzierten Photovoltaikanlagen in den 27 Mitgliedstaaten gemeinsam 99,4 Terawattstunden - ein Viertel mehr als im Vorjahr, wie aus einem am Donnerstag veröffentlichten Bericht des Thinktanks Ember hervorgeht. Über die Sommermonate stieg der Solarstromanteil am Energiemix demnach im Jahresvergleich von neun auf zwölf Prozent.
Die Solarstromproduktion erreichte so in 18 EU-Ländern neue Höchststände. Vorne liegen die Niederlande mit 23 Prozent ihrer gesamten Stromproduktion, gefolgt von Deutschland mit 19 Prozent und Spanien mit 17 Prozent. Den größten Sprung nach vorne machte Polen, wo Photovoltaikanlagen in diesem Sommer 26-mal mehr Strom produzierten als im vergangenen Jahr. Auch in Finnland und Ungarn vervielfachte sich die Produktion.
Allein durch die Mehrproduktion beim Solarstrom im Jahresvergleich konnten die EU-Staaten dem Thinktank zufolge die Einfuhr von vier Milliarden Kubikmetern Gas einsparen. Dennoch unterstreichen die Experten, dass der Photovoltaikausbau insgesamt noch längst nicht ausreicht, um die Klima- und Energieziele für 2030 zu erreichen.
