Selenskyj: Fast 2000 Ortschaften nach russischer Besetzung wieder befreit
Die ukrainische Armee hat nach Angaben von Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj rund 2000 von Russland besetzte Ortschaften des Landes wieder befreit. "Uns ist es bereits gelungen, 1888 Ortschaften von den Besatzern zu befreien", sagte der Staatschef am Mittwoch in seiner abendlichen Videoansprache. "Fast genauso viele ukrainische Städte und Dörfer sind aber noch besetzt", fügte er hinzu.
Selenskyj zufolge griff Russland am Mittwoch unter anderem die Stadt Kurachowe nahe von Donezk im Osten des Landes an. Bei dem "sehr brutalen Angriff" seien zehn Menschen getötet und "viele weitere" verletzt worden. Die russischen Truppen hätten "gezielt ganz normale Menschen in Visier genommen", sagte der ukrainische Präsident.
In der Region konzentrieren sich derzeit die Kämpfe zwischen beiden Seiten. "Das ist eine harte Konfrontation, jeder Meter zählt", sagte Selenskyj.
