Polizei: Drei Tote und 20 Verletzte bei russischem Raketenangriff auf Kramatorsk
In Kramatorsk im Osten der Ukraine sind nach Polizeiangaben bei einem russischen Raketenangriff drei Menschen getötet und etwa 20 weitere Menschen verletzt worden. Es sei ein Wohngebäude getroffen worden, teilte die Polizei am Mittwochabend mit. Sie äußerte zugleich die Befürchtung, dass sich noch weitere Opfer unter den Trümmern des Hauses befinden.
"Friedliche Menschen wurden getötet und unter Trümmern begraben", erklärte der ukrainische Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj. "Das ist die tägliche Realität in unserem Land." AFP-Reporter sahen zwei aus den Trümmern geborgene Leichen. Rettungskräfte suchten in den Trümmern nach Überlebenden und möglichen weiteren Opfern.
Kramatorsk befindet sich in der Region Donezk. Diese ist seit Monaten heftig umkämpft, ihre komplette Einnahme ist eines der wesentlichen Kriegsziele Russlands in der Ukraine. Die Regionen Donezk und Luhansk bilden zusammen die Region Donbass, die bereits seit 2014 teilweise von pro-russischen Separatisten besetzt ist. Der Donbass ist wegen seiner Rohstoffe und Industrie von großer wirtschaftlicher Bedeutung.
