Stoltenberg trifft Außen- und Verteidigungsminister der USA
Nato-Generalsekretär Jens Stoltenberg kommt am Mittwoch in Washington mit US-Außenminister Antony Blinken zusammen (Pk. 13.20 Uhr Ortszeit). Im Anschluss ist ein Gespräch mit Pentagonchef Lloyd Austin geplant. Daneben trifft Stoltenberg nach Nato-Angaben unter anderem den Nationalen Sicherheitsberater von US-Präsident Joe Biden, Jake Sullivan.
Im Mittelpunkt der Beratungen dürfte die militärische und zivile Hilfe für die Ukraine im russischen Angriffskrieg stehen. Am Freitag hatte die US-Regierung ein neues Rüstungspakt mit einem Wert von knapp 2,2 Milliarden Dollar (rund zwei Milliarden Euro) angekündigt. Daneben könnte auch der Abschuss des mutmaßlichen chinesischen Spionageballons über den USA zur Sprache kommen. Kommende Woche tagen in Brüssel die Nato-Verteidigungsminister.
