Ukrainischer Präsident Selenskyj zu Besuch in Großbritannien eingetroffen
Der ukrainische Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj ist am Mittwochmorgen zu seinem kurz zuvor angekündigten Besuch in Großbritannien eingetroffen. Nach Berichten des britischen Fernsehens landete der Staatschef gegen 10.20 Uhr (Ortszeit; 11.20 Uhr MEZ) am Flughafen Stansted im Londoner Nordosten. Dort wurde Selenskyj nach der Landung von Premierminister Rishi Sunak mit einer Umarmung emfpangen.
Nach Angaben des Buckingham-Palasts ist auch ein Treffen mit König Charles III. geplant, außerdem wird Selenskyj eine Rede vor dem britischen Parlament halten. Ebenso steht eine Visite bei ukrainischen Soldaten auf dem Programm.
Es ist der zweite Besuch Selenskyjs im Ausland seit dem Beginn des russischen Angriffskrieges auf die Ukraine vor fast einem Jahr; im Dezember war er in Washington gewesen.
Wie die britische Regierung mitteilte, will London anlässlich des Besuch Selenskyjs unter anderem Pläne verkünden, ukrainische Kampfjet-Piloten auszubilden. Großbritannien ist einer der vehementesten Unterstützer der Ukraine im russischen Angriffskrieg.
