Ungarisches Parlament will Finnlands Nato-Beitritt ratifizieren
Das ungarische Parlament will am Montag Finnlands Nato-Beitritt ratifizieren. Über die Aufnahme Schwedens in das Militärbündnis will die regierende rechtskonservative Fidesz-Partei von Ministerpräsident Viktor Orban später entscheiden lassen. Die Regierung von Orban unterstützt nach eigenen Angaben den Nato-Beitritt beider Länder, die parlamentarische Mehrheit für die Aufnahme Schwedens sei aber zu unsicher.
In der Folge des russischen Angriffskriegs gegen die Ukraine hatten Schweden und das Nachbarland Finnland gemeinsam den Beitritt zur Nato beantragt. Alle 30 Nato-Mitgliedstaaten müssen grünes Licht für die Aufnahme geben, die Zustimmung Ungarns und der Türkei steht noch aus. Der türkische Präsident Recep Tayyip Erdogan fordert von Stockholm eine härtere Gangart gegen kurdische Aktivisten, die von Ankara als "Terroristen" betrachtet werden.
