Nach SPD-Vorsitz gibt Kutschaty in Nordrhein-Westfalen auch Fraktionsvorsitz ab
Nach seinem Rücktritt als SPD-Landesvorsitzender in Nordrhein-Westfalen hat Thomas Kutschaty auch seinen Rückzug von der Fraktionsspitze im Landtag angekündigt. Eine Neuaufstellung in der Partei müsse "auch mit einer Neuaufstellung in der Fraktion einhergehen", sagte Kutschaty am Dienstag in Düsseldorf. Er wird demnach aber noch so lange im Amt bleiben, bis es eine Neuwahl gibt.
Ein Fraktionssprecher sagte, der geschäftsführende Vorstand und die Fraktion hätten Kutschaty gebeten, sein Amt nicht sofort niederzulegen, sondern noch "einige Wochen" SPD-Fraktionsvorsitzender zu bleiben. Voraussichtlich im Mai solle dann eine neue Fraktionsspitze gewählt werden.
Kutschaty war in der vergangenen Woche von seinem Amt als SPD-Landesvorsitzender in Nordrhein-Westfalen zurückgetreten. Zuvor war er parteiintern mit seinem Vorschlag für die Neubesetzung des SPD-Generalsekretärspostens gescheitert. Übergangsweise führt der Oberbürgermeister von Hamm, Marc Herter, den Landesverband. Über die künftige Führung soll später auf einem Landesparteitag entschieden werden.
Kutschaty war seit 2021 SPD-Landeschef. Seit April 2018 ist er SPD-Fraktionschef im Düsseldorfer Landtag. Bei der Landtagswahl im vergangenen Jahr unterlag er mit seiner Partei klar gegen die CDU von Ministerpräsidenten Hendrik Wüst.
