EU und Tunesien beraten über Zusammenarbeit
Vertreter der Europäischen Union beraten am Sonntag in Tunesien über eine verstärkte Zusammenarbeit in Energie- und Migrationsfragen. EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen kommt dafür in Tunis mit Präsident Kais Saied zusammen. An dem Treffen nehmen auch Italiens Regierungschefin Giorgia Meloni und der niederländische Ministerpräsidenten Mark Rutte teil.
Geplant ist ein Abkommen über eine verstärkte Zusammenarbeit in den Bereichen Wirtschaft, Energie und Migration. Die EU will sich bei Energielieferungen noch unabhängiger von Russland machen. Zudem will sie die Zahl der Migranten begrenzen, die über das Mittelmeer nach Europa kommen. Die Zahl der irregulären Einreisen über Tunesien war zuletzt laut der EU-Grenzagentur Frontex stark angestiegen.
