Russland ruft zum "nationalen Dialog" im Niger auf
Russland hat dazu aufgerufen, nach dem Staatsstreich im Niger eine "Verschlimmerung der Lage" zu vermeiden. "Die Androhung von Gewalt gegen einen souveränen Staat wird nicht dazu beitragen, die Spannungen zu verringern", sagte die Sprecherin des Außenministeriums, Maria Sacharowa, am Mittwoch in Moskau. "Es ist äußerst wichtig, eine weitere Verschlimmerung der Lage zu verhindern", betonte sie.
Russland sei überzeugt, dass im Niger ein "nationaler Dialog" nötig sei, "um den zivilen Frieden sowie Recht und Ordnung wieder herzustellen". Der Staatsstreich im Niger im der vergangenen Woche hat in den übrigen westafrikanischen Staaten Sorge ausgelöst und die ehemalige Kolonialmacht Frankreich dazu gebracht, Franzosen und Staatsangehörige anderer europäischer Länder auszufliegen, unter ihnen auch mehr als 40 Deutsche.
Die Westafrikanische Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft (Ecowas) entsandte am Mittwoch eine Verhandlungsdelegation nach Niamey, drohte aber zugleich mit einem militärischen Eingreifen als "letzte Option".
