Erneut Proteste gegen Justizreform von Israels rechts-religiöser Regierung
In Israel haben erneut tausende Menschen gegen die Justizreform der rechts-religiösen Regierung von Ministerpräsident Benjamin Netanjahu demonstriert. Wie israelische Medien berichteten, versammelten sich am Samstagabend allein in Tel Aviv mehrere tausend Demonstrierende. Sie schwenkten israelische Flaggen und forderten lautstark "Demokratie". Auch in anderen Städten fanden Proteste statt.
Die Justizreform spaltet die israelische Bevölkerung. Die Proteste gegen das Vorhaben finden seit mehr als einem halben Jahr regelmäßig statt.
Ende Juli verabschiedete das israelische Parlament mit den Stimmen aller 64 Abgeordneten der rechts-religiösen Regierungsmehrheit die sogenannte Angemessenheitsklausel. Sie nimmt dem Obersten Gericht fortan die Möglichkeit, Regierungsentscheidungen als "unangemessen" einzustufen und sie außer Kraft zu setzen.
Gegner der Reform hatten die Parlamentsabstimmung mit massiven Protesten begleitet. Dutzende Menschen wurden festgenommen, in Tel Aviv setzte die Polizei Wasserwerfer ein.
