Niedersachsen geht gegen russisches "Z"-Symbol vor
Niedersachsen geht gegen das "Z"-Symbol vor, das Zeichen für die Unterstützung der russischen Armee im Ukraine-Krieg. Niedersachsens Innenminister Boris Pistorius (SPD) erklärte, wer durch das "Z"-Symbol öffentlich Zustimmung zum Angriffskrieg von Russlands Staatschef Wladimir Putin auf die Ukraine zum Ausdruck bringe, der müsse in Niedersachsen mit strafrechtlichen Konsequenzen rechnen. "Es ist mir absolut unverständlich, wie das stilisierte 'Z' sogar bei uns dafür genutzt werden kann, um diese Verbrechen gutzuheißen."
Das "Z" werde etwa auf Gebäuden, an Autos oder an der Kleidung gezeigt, um Zustimmung zum Krieg Russlands gegen die Ukraine zu zeigen, heißt es in der am Samstag aktualisierten Mitteilung des Ministeriums. Auch in Niedersachsen habe es schon "entsprechende Beobachtungen" gegeben.
Das Innenministerium wies die Polizei am Freitag an, dass die öffentliche Verwendung des Symbols auf Demonstrationen und die öffentliche Verbreitung Straftaten darstellen können. Grundlage ist Paragraf 140 Nummer zwei des Strafgesetzbuches: Demnach wird ein Verhalten unter Strafe gestellt, das öffentlich zur Schau getragene Billigung von Angriffskriegen zu verstehen und geeignet ist, den öffentlichen Frieden zu stören. Möglich sind bis zu drei Jahre Haft oder eine Geldstrafe.
In Russland taucht der lateinische Buchstabe vielerorts im öffentlichen Raum auf. Er ist als Symbol gut zu erkennen, da er im Russischen normalerweise nicht existiert.
