Brandenburger SPD wählt Regierungschef Woidke zu Spitzenkandidat für Landtagswahl
Die SPD in Brandenburg hat Parteichef und Ministerpräsident Dietmar Woidke (SPD) zum Spitzenkandidaten für die Landtagswahl im September gewählt. Bei einem Parteitag in Falkensee erhielt der 62-Jährige am Samstag 97 Prozent der Stimmen, wie die Partei mitteilte. Woidke ist seit 2013 Brandenburgs Regierungschef. Er löste damals seinen gesundheitlich angeschlagenen Vorgänger Matthias Platzeck (SPD) ab. Bei den Landtagswahlen 2014 und 2019 wurde er im Amt bestätigt.
Die nächste Wahl steht in Brandenburg am 22. September an. In den jüngsten Umfragen lag Woidkes SPD nur an zweiter beziehungsweise dritter Position und damit in etwa gleichauf der mit der CDU. Auf den ersten Platz kam in den Umfragen die AfD, für die allerdings kein Koalitionspartner in Sicht ist.
Die meisten anderen Parteien, die zur Wahl antreten, bestimmten ihr Spitzenpersonal bereits. Die CDU schickt Landes- und Fraktionschef Jan Redmann ins Rennen. Die Grünen wählten Staatssekretärin Antje Töpfer und Ko-Fraktionschef Benjamin Raschke zu ihren Spitzenkandidaten, die Linkspartei Landeschef Sebastian Walter.
Die nicht im Landtag vertretene FDP bestimmte ihren Landesvorsitzenden Zyon Braun als Spitzenkandidaten, die Freien Wähler ihren Landeschef Péter Vida. Die AfD schickt ihren Fraktionsvorsitzenden Hans-Christoph Berndt ins Rennen. Erwartet wird, dass auch das Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW) antritt.
