Weber fordert Aufnahme von iranischen Revolutionsgarden auf EU-Terrorliste
Nach dem Angriff des Iran auf Israel mit über 300 Drohnen und Raketen hat der Vorsitzende der Europäischen Volkspartei (EVP), Manfred Weber, gefordert, die iranische Revolutionsgarde auf die EU-Terrorliste zu setzen. "Der Hintergrund dieser Organisation ist eindeutig klar", sagte Weber am Mittwoch im ZDF-"Morgenmagazin". Sie bringe Terror in die Region.
"Auch im mittleren Osten ist die wahre Natur Irans jedem bewusst", fügte er hinzu. Das zeige die Tatsache, dass neben den westlichen Staaten auch beispielsweise Jordanien bei der Abwehr der Raketen geholfen habe. Bei dem Regime im Iran handele es sich um einen "Terrorstaat", betonte der CSU-Politiker.
Außenministerin Annalena Baerbock (Grüne) ist am Dienstagnachmittag nach Israel gereist. Sie wird am Mittwoch zu Gesprächen mit Regierungschef Benjamin Netanjahu, Außenminister Israel Katz sowie dem Oppositionsführer und Mitglied des Kriegskabinetts, Benny Gantz, erwartet. Ziel sei es unter anderem, nach dem iranischen Angriff auf Israel "eine weitere Eskalation mit Zug um Zug mehr Gewalt" zu verhindern, sagte Baerbock.
