Nachwahlbefragung: Konservative Regierungspartei führt bei Wahl in Kroatien
Bei der Parlamentswahl in Kroatien liegen ersten Schätzungen zufolge die regierenden Konservativen vorn. Laut Nachwahlbefragungen würde die Regierungspartei HDZ von Ministerpräsidenten Andrej Plenkovic 58 der 151 Sitze im Parlament in Zagreb bekommen, während die Sozialdemokratische Partei (SDP) auf 44, die nationalistisch-rechte Heimatbewegung auf 13 und die grün-linke Partei auf elf Sitze käme.
Rund 3,7 Millionen Wählerinnen und Wählerin waren am Mittwoch in dem EU-Land zum Urnengang aufgerufen - nach einem erbitterten Wahlkampf zwischen Plenkovic und seinem linkspopulistischen Herausforderer und Amtsvorgänger Zoran Milanovic war die Wahlbeteiligung hoch.
Um 15.30 Uhr, zweieinhalb Stunden vor Schließung der Wahllokale, hatten laut der staatlichen Wahlkommission bereits mehr als die Hälfte der Wahlberechtigten ihre Stimme abgegeben. Bei der Wahl im Jahr 2020 lag die Wahlbeteiligung zum gleichen Zeitpunkt bei 34 Prozent.
