Spionage-Vorwurf gegen Mitarbeiter: Krah bleibt AfD-Spitzenkandidat
Der AfD-Politiker Maximilian Krah bleibt trotz der mutmaßlichen China-Spionage eines Mitarbeiters Spitzenkandidat seiner Partei für die Europawahl. Er sei mit der Parteiführung übereingekommen, dass er am Samstag beim Wahlkampfauftakt in Donaueschingen nicht dabei sein werde, "aber ich bin und bleibe Spitzenkandidat", sagte Krah am Mittwoch in Berlin. Dem betreffenden Mitarbeiter in seinem EU-Abgeordnetenbüro, der inzwischen in Untersuchungshaft sitzt, werde er umgehend kündigen.
Krah bekräftigte, dass er bei sich selbst "kein persönliches Fehlverhalten" sehe. Aber in seinem Büro sei "eine Straftat" begangen worden, es gebe "schwerwiegende Vorwürfe". Daher werde er "noch am heutigen Tag den betreffenden Mitarbeiter kündigen", sagte der AfD-Europaabgeordnete. Er kündigte an, zu "rekonstruieren, was von ihm beantwortet wurde". Krah räumte ein, dass aufgrund der am Dienstag bekannt gewordenen Spionagevorwürfe der Wahlkampf für die Europawahl am 9. Juni "furchtbar überschattet" werde.
Wie die Bundesanwaltschaft am Mittwoch mitteilte, wurde der am Montag festgenommene Jian G. am Dienstagabend einem Ermittlungsrichter vorgeführt. Dieser habe Untersuchungshaft angeordnet. Dem Mitarbeiter Krahs wird Agententätigkeit für einen chinesischen Geheimdienst vorgeworfen. Das EU-Parlament in Brüssel hatte den Mann bereits am Dienstag mit sofortiger Wirkung suspendiert. Die chinesische Regierung in Peking wies die Vorwürfe zurück.
