Bundestag streicht Sitzungstag im Februar
Angesichts neuer Höchststände bei den Corona-Infektionen dünnt der Bundestag seinen Sitzungskalender aus. Am Dienstag, den 15. Februar, werde die Präsenzpflicht für die Abgeordneten aufgehoben, sagte Bundestagspräsidentin Bärbel Bas (SPD) am Freitag in Berlin. Die Entscheidung sei am Donnerstag vom Ältestenrat getroffen worden. Die Tage unmittelbar nach dem 15. Februar sind weiterhin als Sitzungstage vorgesehen. In den beiden ersten Februar-Wochen waren ohnehin keine Sitzungstage vorgesehen.
Der Ältestenrat legt gemäß den Bestimmungen im Abgeordnetengesetz fest, an welchen Tagen im Bundestag Sitzungen stattfinden. Für diese Tage gilt eine Präsenzpflicht für die Abgeordneten. Ihre Präsenz müssen sie durch einen Eintrag in einer Anwesenheitsliste belegen. Kommen sie dem nicht nach, werden ihnen 100 Euro von ihrer Vergütung abgezogen.
