EU-Kommission hofft auf „konstruktive Zusammenarbeit" mit nächster Regierung Italiens
Die EU-Kommission hofft nach dem Wahlsieg der euroskeptischen Rechten in Italien auf eine "konstruktive Zusammenarbeit" mit der neuen Führung in Rom. Die Kommission arbeite grundsätzlich mit jeder Regierung in der EU zusammen, die aus Wahlen hervorgehe, sagte der Kommissionssprecher Eric Mamer am Montag in Brüssel. "Das ist dieses Mal auch nicht anders. Wir hoffen natürlich auf eine konstruktive Zusammenarbeit", fügte er hinzu.
Zunächst sei abzuwarten, bis Italien gemäß seiner Verfassung eine neue Regierung gebildet habe. Hochrechnungen zufolge erhielt Giorgia Meloni mit ihrer Rechtsaußen-Partei FDI bei der Parlamentswahl am Sonntag rund ein Viertel der Stimmen und wird damit stärkste Kraft.
Meloni könnte somit die erste Frau an der Spitze einer italienischen Regierung werden. Aufgrund des komplizierten Wahlsystems dürfte ihr Wahlbündnis in beiden Parlamentskammern die absolute Mehrheit der Sitze erhalten.
