Bundeskanzler Olaf Scholz (SPD) befindet sich nach seiner Corona-Infektion auf dem Weg der Besserung. "Jedenfalls hatte ich heute den ersten negativen Test", sagte der Kanzler am Donnerstag auf der Pressekonferenz zum Abwehrschirm gegen die steigenden Energiepreise. "Wenn das anhält, kann ich darauf hoffen, dass die Quarantäne nicht mehr lange anhält."
Die Corona-Infektion von Scholz war am Montag bekannt geworden. Die ursprünglich für Mittwoch geplanten Bund-Länder-Beratungen zu den Entlastungen bei den Energiepreisen waren daraufhin auf kommenden Dienstag verschoben worden.
Der Bundeskanzler nimmt auf ärztlichen Rat das Medikament Paxlovid, wie er kürzlich in einem Interview erklärt hatte. Dazu sagte Finanzminister Christian Lindner (FDP) auf der Pressekonferenz, der negative Test des Kanzler sei ein "guter Anlass", für Paxlovid zu werben.
"Das habe ich während meiner Hotel-Quarantäne in Washington auch bekommen und war binnen fünf Tagen bei mildem Verlauf negativ", sagte Lindner. Das Medikament "sollte in Deutschland öfter genutzt werden".
