EU-Energieminister wollen Gewinnabschöpfung beschließen
Die für Energie zuständigen EU-Minister wollen auf einem Sondertreffen in Brüssel weitere Maßnahmen zur Entlastung der Verbraucher in der Energiekrise beschließen. EU-Energiekommissarin Kadri Simson äußerte sich am Freitag zuversichtlich über eine "rasche Umsetzung der Maßnahmen" in den Mitgliedstaaten. Es gehe um "genug Energie zu bezahlbaren Preisen für europäische Haushalte und die Wirtschaft", sagte der tschechische Industrie- und Handelsminister Jozef Sikela, dessen Land bis Ende des Jahres den Vorsitz im Ministerrat hat.
Nach der Beschlussvorlage sollen übermäßige Milliardengewinne von Stromkonzernen in der Energiekrise europaweit abgeschöpft und an die Verbraucher weitergeleitet werden, die unter hohen Rechnungen ächzen. Mineralölkonzerne und andere sollen sich mit einer "Solidaritätsabgabe" an dem Entlastungspaket beteiligen.
Bundeswirtschaftsminister Robert Habeck (Grüne) begrüßte das Modell, das Deutschland "stark mitgeprägt" habe. Es könne nach dem Beschluss schnell umgesetzt werden, versprach er in Brüssel.
EU-Kommissionspräsidentin Ursula von der Leyen ging ursprünglich davon aus, dass die Mitgliedsländer insgesamt 140 Milliarden Euro abschöpfen können. Da bei der nationalen Umsetzung nun jedoch mehr Flexibilität eingeräumt werden soll, lässt sich der genaue Ertrag nicht errechnen.
