Biathletin Preuß fehlt auch im Sprint
Biathletin Franziska Preuß wird auch die beiden abschließenden Wettbewerbe beim Weltcup-Auftakt in Kontiolahti verpassen. Wie der Deutsche Skiverband (DSV) vor dem Sprintrennen am Samstag (13.45 Uhr/ARD und Eurosport) mitteilte, verhindern anhaltende gesundheitliche Probleme die Rückkehr der 28-Jährigen ins Team. Preuß hatte bereits das Einzel und die Staffel verpasst, der Verfolger am Sonntag ist damit auch kein Thema mehr.
"Franziska hat anhaltend gereizte Atemwege mit Husten, der sich insbesondere bei hohen Belastungen bemerkbar macht", sagte Teamärztin Katharina Blum. "Um eine erfolgreiche WM-Saison zu gewährleisten", sei daher der Startverzicht beschlossen worden. Die Heim-Weltmeisterschaften in Oberhof finden vom 8. bis 19. Februar 2023 statt.
Preuß, die bei Olympia in Peking mit der Staffel Bronze gewann, hatte bereits in der vergangenen Saison immer wieder mit gesundheitlichen Problemen zu kämpfen. Nach einer langwierigen Corona-Infektion und einer Fußverletzung drohte ihr zwischenzeitlich sogar das Aus für die Winterspiele.
