Skispringen: Deutsches Mixed-Team auf Rang drei
Die deutschen Skispringer haben auch im zweiten Mixed-Team-Wettbewerb der Saison einen Podestplatz erreicht. Selina Freitag, Karl Geiger, Katharina Althaus und Andreas Wellinger sammelten beim stürmischen Heimspiel in Willingen 409,8 Punkte und belegten Rang drei unter den acht Teams. Bei schwierigen Windverhältnissen gewann Norwegen (450,6) vor Österreich (415,1), nach dem ersten Durchgang wurde der Wettkampf abgebrochen.
Für eine Schrecksekunde sorgte der Slowene Timi Zajc, der auf 161,5 m segelte - achteinhalb Meter weiter als der Schanzenrekord. Zajc stürzte, konnte aber nur leicht angeschlagen aufstehen. "Das war einer der wildesten Sprünge, die ich je gesehen habe", sagte Wellinger in der ARD.
Mitte Dezember hatte Weltmeister Deutschland in Titisee-Neustadt im ersten Mixed des Winters ebenfalls den dritten Rang belegt.
