Matarazzo als Breitenreiter-Nachfolger im Gespräch
Der frühere Stuttgarter Aufstiegstrainer Pellegrino Matarazzo soll womöglich den Absturz der TSG Hoffenheim in die 2. Liga verhindern. Der 45-Jährige ist Medienberichten zufolge Kandidat auf die Nachfolge von Andre Breitenreiter, von dem sich die TSG am Sonntag getrennt haben soll. Eine offizielle Bestätigung für das Aus wird am Montag erwartet.
Matarazzo ist in Hoffenheim ein alter Bekannter: Vor seiner Zeit beim VfB war er im Kraichgau von 2017 bis 2019 zunächst U17-Coach und später Assistent von Chef Julian Nagelsmann.
Breitenreiter wurde einen Tag nach dem desaströsen 2:5 beim VfL Bochum freigestellt. Der 49-Jährige war erst zu Saisonbeginn mit den Vorschusslorbeeren des Schweizer Meistertrainers (FC Zürich) zum "Dorfklub" gekommen.
