NBA: Irving-Wechsel zu Dallas Mavericks perfekt
Der Wechsel von NBA-Superstar Kyrie Irving von den Brooklyn Nets zu den Dallas Mavericks ist perfekt. Zuletzt war bereits über das neue Basketball-Starduo mit Mavs-Anführer und MVP-Kandidat Luka Doncic spekuliert worden, in der Nacht zu Dienstag bestätigten nun beide Teams den Transfer nach Texas. Dort trifft der 30 Jahre alte Point Guard auch auf den deutschen Nationalspieler Maxi Kleber.
Für Irving und Markieff Morris gingen im Gegenzug Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, ein Erstrunden- und zwei Zweitrunden-Draftpicks in den Big Apple - ein ordentliches Paket für den zweifelsfrei talentierten, aber höchst umstrittenen Irving, der damit bereits zum dritten Mal einen Trade von seinem Klub erzwingen konnte.
Zuvor hatten dies bereits die Cleveland Cavaliers, mit denen er 2016 an der Seite von LeBron James Meister wurde, und die Boston Celtics erfahren. Dennoch ist die Hoffnung in Dallas groß, mit Irving das fehlende Puzzle-Teil zum Anwärter auf die Meisterschaft gefunden zu haben.
Noch ohne Irving und den angeschlagenen Doncic siegten die Mavs bei Utah Jazz mit 124:111. Die Nets mussten sich derweil den Los Angeles Clippers 116:124 geschlagen geben.
