"Torhüterin" Schüller: Vorne eiskalt, hinten felsenfest
Da stand Lea Schüller also tatsächlich im Tor, dabei war der Ernstfall gar nicht eingetreten. "Wir haben im Bus noch darüber gesprochen, welche Spielerin ins Tor gehen würde, wenn die Torhüterin ausfällt und wir nicht mehr wechseln können. Und ich wäre ins Tor gegangen", berichtete die Matchwinnerin schmunzelnd bei DAZN: "Ganz witziger Zufall."
Mit ihrem Kopfballtreffer in der 39. Minute, aber vor allem zwei starken Rettungsaktionen auf der Linie, sicherte die Stürmerin dem FC Bayern im Viertelfinal-Hinspiel der Champions League ein 1:0 (1:0) gegen den FC Arsenal - und damit eine gute Ausgangslage für das Rückspiel am Mittwoch kommender Woche.
"Wir haben herausragend verteidigt, sogar auf der Torlinie. Wir sind sehr glücklich über die weiße Weste", sagte Bayern-Trainer Alexander Straus. Schüller forderte angesichts der wackligen zweiten Hälfte, in der Arsenal vor 20.000 Zuschauern ein deutliches Übergewicht hatte, allerdings: "Wir müssen an die erste Hälfte anknüpfen und nicht wie in der zweiten Hälfte um das Gegentor betteln."
An das Rückspiel auf der Insel dachte am Dienstagabend in den Katakomben der Allianz Arena allerdings kaum jemand, der Blick richtete sich aufs Wochenende: Am Samstag (17.55 Uhr/ARD) tritt Tabellenführer VfL Wolfsburg zum Gipfeltreffen beim FC Bayern an - viele erwarten vom Bundesliga-Spitzenspiel die Vorentscheidung im Kampf um die Meisterschaft.
"Beide Mannschaften sind gleichwertig, die Tagesform wird entscheiden", prognostizierte Bayern-Präsident Herbert Hainer und ergänzte: "Wir haben den Heim-Vorteil. Wolfsburg hat zuletzt verloren, das Momentum ist auf unserer Seite."
Mit einem Sieg könnte der FC Bayern (40 Punkte) den Double-Sieger an der Spitze (42) überholen. Möglicher Vorteil: Bayern hat ein Tag mehr Pause als die Wölfinnen, die am Mittwochabend (21.00 Uhr/DAZN) in der Champions League noch bei Paris St. Germain gefordert sind.
