Draisaitl führt Oilers mit Hattrick in die Play-offs
Eishockeystar Leon Draisaitl hat mit einem Hattrick die 50-Tore-Marke erreicht und seine Edmonton Oilers in die Play-offs der Profiliga NHL geführt. Nach der Gala des deutschen Nationalspielers beim 6:0 gegen die Anaheim Ducks haben die Kanadier ihren Platz in der Meisterrunde bei fünf ausstehenden Hauptrundenspielen vorzeitig sicher.
Draisaitl traf zum 2:0 (23.), in Überzahl zum 4:0 (32.) und in Unterzahl zum Endstand (56.). Dem gebürtigen Kölner gelangen als erstem Oilers-Spieler überhaupt 30 Powerplay-Treffer in einer Saison. Auf 50 Tore kam der 27-Jährige bereits zum dritten Mal nach 2018/19 und 2021/22. Edmonton hat nun viermal nacheinander die Postseason erreicht.
Tim Stützle erlitt derweil im Play-off-Rennen mit den Ottawa Senators beim 0:3 gegen die Toronto Maple Leafs einen Rückschlag. Dagegen verbesserten John-Jason Peterka und seine Buffalo Sabres durch ein 6:3 bei den Philadelphia Flyers ihre Chancen. Peterka blieb ohne Scorerpunkt.
Nico Sturm gewann mit den abgeschlagenen San Jose Sharks 7:2 bei den Arizona Coyotes. Der Stanley-Cup-Champion verbuchte zwei Assists. Lukas Reichel erzielte sein sechstes Saisontor, verlor mit den Chicago Blackhawks aber gegen die New Jersey Devils 3:6. Goalie Thomas Greiss ging mit den St. Louis Blues bei den Nashville Predators mit 1:6 unter und wehrte 29 von 35 Schüssen ab.
Buffalo liegt im Osten vier Punkte hinter dem letzten Wildcard-Platz, Ottawa sechs. San Jose und Chicago sind im Westen längst aus dem Rennen, St. Louis hat nur noch rechnerische Chancen.
