Medien: Dardai neuer Hertha-Coach - Schwarz muss gehen
Der schwer angeschlagene Fußball-Bundesligist Hertha BSC hat auf den Sturz ans Tabellenende reagiert und Trainer Sandro Schwarz freigestellt. Als neuer Coach soll Hertha-Urgestein Pal Dardai den krisengeplagten Klub zum Klassenerhalt führen. Das geht aus übereinstimmenden Medien-Meldungen am Sonntag hervor. Der 47-jährige Dardai war bereits zweimal Chefcoach bei der Alten Dame und auch als Nachwuchscoach und Talentförder-Koordinator beim Traditionsklub tätig.
Am Freitagabend hatte Hertha nach einer schwachen Leistung 2:5 (1:2) beim bisherigen Schlusslicht Schalke 04 verloren und war auf Platz 18 abgerutscht.
Im Anschluss hatte Sportdirektor Benjamin Weber ein Bekenntnis für Schwarz vermieden. Schwarz hatte das Team zum Saisonstart übernommen, sein Vertrag war bis zum 30. Juni 2024 gültig.
Hertha hat seit sechs Ligaspielen nicht gewonnen und erlebt eine höchst turbulente Saison. Ende Januar hatte der Klub Geschäftsführer Sport Fredi Bobic freigestellt. Dieser hatte daraufhin im Februar beim Arbeitsgericht Klage gegen seine Kündigung eingereicht.
