DFB-Pokal: Wolfsburg im Finale gegen Freiburg
Im DFB-Pokalfinale der Frauen kommt es zur Neuauflage des Endspiels von 2019 zwischen dem VfL Wolfsburg und dem SC Freiburg. Wolfsburg war am Samstag nach einer Machtdemonstration beim Bundesliga-Tabellenführer Bayern München mit 5:0 (2:0) ins Finale eingezogen.
Am Sonntag setzte sich der Bundesligist aus Freiburg mit 1:0 (0:0) gegen den Zweitligisten RB Leipzig, der seit Sonntag vorzeitig als Aufsteiger feststeht, durch. Hasret Kayikci (90.+6) traf spät zur Entscheidung.
Das Endspiel findet am 18. Mai im RheinEnergie-Stadion in Köln statt. Wolfsburg hat den Pokal achtmal in Serie gewonnen, im Endspiel 2019 gab es ein 1:0 gegen Freiburg.
Wolfsburg, das in dem Wettbewerb seit nun 44 Spielen ungeschlagen ist, hatte am Samstag in München eindrucksvoll Revanche für die Niederlage in der Liga vor drei Wochen (0:1) genommen.
Der Doppelpack von Sveindis Jonsdottir (19., 47.), Ewa Pajor (44.), Nationalspielerin Jule Brand (56.) sowie Dominique Janssen (60., Handelfmeter) sorgten für den Finaleinzug der Wölfinnen.
