Rekordmeister Boston Celtics hat in den Play-offs der nordamerikanischen Basketball-Profiliga NBA einen wichtigen Schritt in Richtung Halbfinale gemacht. In Spiel drei gegen die Philadelphia 76ers um den frisch gebackenen MVP Joel Embiid gewann der letztjährige Finals-Teilnehmer auf fremden Parkett mit 102:114 und stellte in der Best-of-seven-Serie auf 2:1.
Boston konnte sich bei seinem Auswärtssieg auf eine starke Teamleistung verlassen. Topspieler Jayson Tatum erzielte 27 Punkte und zehn Rebounds, Jaylen Brown steuerte als zweitbester Werfer 23 Zähler bei. Die 30 Punkte von Embiid, der kürzlich erstmals zum wertvollsten Spieler der regulären Saison gewählt worden war, reichten den 76ers nicht.
