Angeführt von Kapitän Ilkay Gündogan siegte die Mannschaft von Teammanager Pep Guardiola beim FC Everton 3:0 (2:0) und baute den Vorsprung auf den FC Arsenal zumindest kurzzeitig auf vier Punkte aus. Der Tabellenzweite trifft am Sonntagabend aber noch auf Brighton & Hove Albion.
Ilkay Gündogan (37., 51.) und Erling Haaland (39.) erzielten die Tore beim elften Ligasieg von City in Serie. Für Haaland war es bereits der 36. Saisontreffer.
