NBA-Finals: Jokic führt Denver zum ersten Sieg
Angeführt von Triple-Double-König Nikola Jokic haben die Denver Nuggets in den NBA-Finals einen ersten Schritt Richtung Titel gemacht. Die beste Hauptrundenmannschaft der Western Conference gewann den Auftakt der Best-of-seven-Serie gegen das Überraschungsteam Miami Heat nach einer dominanten Vorstellung mit 104:93, überragender Spieler war einmal mehr der zweimalige MVP Jokic.
Der Serbe erzielte im ersten Finalspiel der Nuggets in der nordamerikanischen Profiliga überhaupt 27 Punkte, dazu kamen zehn Rebounds und 14 Assists. Im 16. Play-off-Spiel in dieser Saison legte Jokic damit bereits zum neunten Mal ein Triple-Double hin. Teamkollege Jamal Murray steuerte 26 Zähler und zehn Vorlagen zum Erfolg bei.
"Wir wollten einfach nur den ersten Schlag landen", sagte Jokic. Vor Miami, das sich erst über das Play-in-Turnier für die Play-offs qualifiziert hatte, war der 28-Jährige gewarnt: "In den ersten drei Runden haben sie auswärts ihr erstes Spiel gewonnen, und das wollten wir verhindern. Ich denke, wir haben einen guten Job gemacht." Bei den Heat war Bam Adebayo mit 26 Punkten Topscorer.
