Offiziell: Terodde bleibt bei Schalke
Vertragswende bei Simon Terodde: Der Angreifer bleibt nach dem Abstieg aus der Fußball-Bundesliga doch bei Schalke 04. Das bestätigte der Klub am Freitagmorgen. "Danke, dass du bleibst", hieß es in einem Kurzvideo. Zuvor hatten die Bild-Zeitung und Sky vom Verbleib berichtet.
Demnach verlängert der 35-Jährige seinen Vertrag bei den Königsblauen um ein Jahr. Eigentlich hatte Terodde im April bereits seinen Abschied verkündet. Zur Vertragslaufzeit machten die Gelsenkirchener zunächst keine Angaben.
"Ich will auf jeden Fall noch weiterspielen", hatte der Zweitliga-Rekordtorjäger zuletzt gesagt - er tut dies auf Schalke. Bei den Fans weckt das gute Erinnerungen. In der Saison 2021/22 hatte Terodde den Traditionsklub mit 30 Toren zum sofortigen Wiederaufstieg geschossen.
