NHL: Vegas gewinnt auch zweites Finalspiel
Mit der nächsten Machtdemonstration haben die Vegas Golden Knights im Play-off-Finale der NHL nachgelegt und sind nur noch zwei Siege von ihrer ersten Meisterschaft entfernt. Im zweiten Spiel der Best-of-Seven-Serie besiegte das Eishockey-Team aus Nevada die Florida Panthers klar mit 7:2. Bereits zum Auftakt hatten die Golden Knights deutlich mit 5:2 gewonnen.
Für Vegas, das auf dem Weg ins Finale unter anderem die Edmonton Oilers um Leon Draisaitl ausgeschaltet hatte, eröffnete Jonathan Marchessault (8.) mit einem Power-Play-Goal den Torreigen. Für die Gäste betrieben Anton Lundell (41.) und Matthew Tkachuk (53.) mit ihren Treffern zum zwischenzeitlichen 1:4 und 2:6 letztlich nur Ergebniskosmetik.
Die Finalserie wechselt nun für die nächsten beiden Spiele nach Florida, Spiel drei startet in der Nacht auf Freitag (2.00 Uhr/Sky). Dort können sich die 2016 gegründeten Golden Knights im zweiten Anlauf erstmals den Stanley Cup sichern. Gleich in ihrer Debüt-Saison 2017/18 hatte die Franchise die Finalserie erreicht - und 1:4 gegen die Washington Capitals verloren.
Sollten die Panthers hingegen den Turnaround schaffen, würde auch ihr Vereinsname erstmals in die altehrwürdige Trophäe eingraviert. Im Jahr 1996 hatte Florida im zuvor einzigen Endspiel gegen die Colorado Avalanche mit 0:4 den Kürzeren gezogen.
