PSG informiert Galtier über Trennung
Der Weg für Julian Nagelsmann zu Paris St. Germain scheint frei. Der französische Fußball-Meister hat seinen Trainer Christophe Galtier am Dienstag über seine Entlassung informiert. Das erfuhr die Nachrichtenagentur AFP aus Verhandlungskreisen. Übereinstimmenden Medienberichten zufolge soll der frühere Bayern-Coach Nagelsmann am Mittwoch in der französischen Hauptstadt eintreffen, um über ein mögliches Engagement bei PSG zu verhandeln.
Galtier musste nach nur einem Jahr mit "lediglich" einem Titel gehen. In der Champions League, deren Gewinn der aus Katar finanzierte Klub bislang vergeblich hinterherläuft, war Paris im Achtelfinale an den Münchnern mit Coach Nagelsmann gescheitert. Der 35-Jährige wurde seinerseits kurz darauf durch Thomas Tuchel ersetzt.
Nagelsmann könnte bei PSG die französische Fußball-Ikone Thierry Henry als Assistent zur Seite gestellt werden. Henry war zuletzt in dieser Rolle bei der belgischen Nationalmannschaft tätig. Nagelsmanns bisheriger Co-Trainer Dino Toppmöller steht vor einem Engagement bei Eintracht Frankfurt als Nachfolger von Oliver Glasner.
In Paris, wo zwischen 2018 und Dezember 2020 bereits Tuchel auf der Bank gesessen hatte, soll der Deutsche den x-ten Neuanfang moderieren. Zuvor hatte der Klub bereits mitgeteilt, dass Weltfußballer Lionel Messi PSG nach zwei Jahren wieder verlassen werde.
