DFB-Team: Kehrer und ter Stegen reisen Freitag an
Thilo Kehrer wird nach dem Triumph mit West Ham United in der Conference League am Freitag zur deutschen Nationalmannschaft stoßen. Das teilte der Deutsche Fußball-Bund (DFB) mit. Der Premier-League-Klub hatte sich den Titel am Mittwochabend durch ein 2:1 gegen den italienischen Erstligisten AC Florenz in Prag gesichert und damit eine 43-jährige Leidenszeit ohne Pokal beendet.
"Wir sind extrem happy. Mit West Ham einen europäischen Titel zu holen, ist überragend", sagte Kehrer. Ebenso wie der Defensivspieler wird Torhüter Marc-Andre ter Stegen nach seiner Japan-Reise mit dem spanischen Meister FC Barcelona am Freitag in Frankfurt/Main erwartet. Der viermalige Weltmeister bereitet sich auf dem DFB-Campus auf sein 1000. Länderspiel am Montag (18.00 Uhr/ZDF) in Bremen gegen die Ukraine vor. Am Donnerstagnachmittag findet ein Training vor voraussichtlich 600 Fans statt.
Im symbolträchtigen Jubiläumsspiel muss Bundestrainer Hansi Flick noch auf Ilkay Gündogan und Robin Gosens verzichten. Sie bestreiten am Samstag in Istanbul das Champions-League-Finale zwischen Manchester City und Inter Mailand und reisen im Anschluss zur Nationalmannschaft.
