Speerwerfer Hofmann erleidet Kreuzbandriss
Der frühere Speerwurf-Vizeeuropameister Andreas Hofmann hat sich einen Kreuzbandriss zugezogen und muss seine WM-Saison beenden. "Seit letztem Sonntag habe ich ein paar harte Tage hinter mir. Während eines Aufwärmwurfs riss ich mir das vordere Kreuzband im linken Knie. "Ich spürte sofort, dass etwas nicht stimmte, fiel auf den Boden und hielt mir das Knie an die Brust. Es fühlte sich schrecklich an", schrieb der 31-Jährige auf Instagram.
Damit hat Hofmann keine Chance mehr auf die Teilnahme an den Weltmeisterschaften in Budapest (19. bis 27. August). "Ich werde nächste Woche mit einem Kniespezialisten besprechen, wie es weitergehen soll, aber ich werde um eine Operation nicht herumkommen", so Hofmann, der 2018 bei den Europameisterschaften in Berlin Silber geholt hatte: "Vielen Dank für die Nachrichten, die mich bisher erreicht haben. Ich werde wieder zurückkommen, versprochen."
